Busy "Working" Weekend

Okay, most of you know that Andrew is starting at a new company this month (same type of work) and will be working from home when he is not on the road. "Working from home? Where? Are we adding on? Converting the garage? Home office? Do we have one of those?" Well, we are working on creating one of those now. We have/had an unused shed in the backyard that Andrew always wanted to turn into "his space" (since I honestly take up most of the house - sorry honey) and now he finally has the proper motivation to get to work on it. I failed to take a picture of the said shed before demolition began last Friday, but Saturday morning when much of our family was here I whipped out the camera and took a few pics. So, this is the work in progress...

Did someone say lumber? Yeah, there were and still are piles of lumber all over the yard. So, yes, Seth's outside play has been confined to the deck for the most part. :(

I have to tell you, this pink stuff really creeps me out. I don't know what it is about it, but I just can't stand it. I actually had to move it yesterday before the rains came and I just didn't know if I was going to be able to do it. And check out the trash! We hauled two truck loads off and there is still more!

Caleb came to help and logged some much needed National Honor Society service project hours :) Did I tell you all that he made Eagle Scout - YEAH! Congratulations Caleb! What a big accomplishment. We are all so proud of you and can't wait to support you in your upcoming Eagle Ceremony.

Sarah was a pretty good sport in cleaning up... although she stayed inside with me and the kids and helped prep food as much as possible.

Boys at work...

Okay, so after making a huge mess, tearing off walls, tearing out insulation and sheet rock and ripping up the floor, the shed looked something like this...

And after much hard work, it looks something like this... some of the hardy plank is up and the new extension is covered (yes, we added on to it - it's bigger!). Andrew and I frantically covered the rest of the "office" with tar paper before a huge rain storm hit. We were both soaked by the time we make it inside, but we did manage to cover the side and back so that water would not get in... and it worked! Poor Seth was left inside with a not so happy Karysn, but he's a great big brother and he managed. He did step out a few times to say... "She's not happy!" "Are ya'll done yet?" "I need some help!"

The inside still needs some help ;) but it's coming along. Andrew has run most of the electrical and it's almost ready for insulation and sheet rock. After that, I can do more to help. We're trying to get the exterior finished and water tight first though.

So, lots of fun huh? I know you are all dying to come lend a helping hand, but all is well. We are going to take a break from it this weekend and head out to see Uncle Ben! YEAH!
I was a little worried about my garden with all the construction going on... it is planted along one end of the office. Drew was careful not to disturb it and even built a little make-shift covering to try to protect it. As of today, this is what it looks like... yeah, pretty good!
